A Manifesto that puts Jerry Maguire to shame

A Manifesto that puts Jerry Maguire to shame

Jerry Maguire wrote a Manifesto that changed his life. Have you ever thought of writing one? Have you ever dared to write something so powerful that it could literally change the entire direction of your life, your business, your future? Kent did. The results were incredible.

In this very short episode, 8 minutes to be exact, Kent unveils everything about how, where, when, and why this Manifesto came about. It wasn’t that he had just watched Jerry Maguire again, for the 14th time. It was something that was deep inside of him waiting to come out.  The Portland Business Journal did a very big story on it and it has been making the rounds all over the internet. This isn’t something that someone from a major corporation might do, but if you run a small business or work for a small business, first you should listen to the entire 8 minutes and second you should read the manifesto. You will not be screaming the famous Jerry Maguire line, “Show me the money!” anytime soon, but you might just start down the path you have always wanted to be on.

Things your kids won’t ever learn in school

Things your kids won’t ever learn in school

Bill Gates did not write this list, but Kent and Todd did go through it one by one and analyzed with their incredibly intelligent brains. Remember, they actually drank beer on one episode they recorded at 10am.  You will learn that Kent actually remembers one thing he learned at school from his Social Studies teacher and it’s something we all should have learned…and they also discovered that the list shouldn’t be just 14 things long. Every school should make it longer… because when they do, all of a sudden the kids become grow up to more efficient employees. And there is a swear word in this episode.

Let’s drink Organic Beer until we drop!

Let’s drink Organic Beer until we drop!

Craig Nicholls shared with us the joy of his yearly event,  the North American Organic Beer Festival. It’s about good times, family and organic beer! Then we travelled across the world to learn how Marc-Antoine DeMees, the owner of Brunehaut Brewery in Belgium makes real Gluten Free Organic beer and why. Finally, we return to Portland to talk with Mike Wright, who started brewing in his basement only to jump off the cliff of life and join the big boys. Now he produces 8 different beers, which are all on tap at his tasting room in his Commons Brewery. Just livin’ the dream boys. Anyone else thirsty?

Football, Sports & Concussions. Is it all too much?

Kent and Todd tackled a tough topic today, as many people are asking if kids should play football because of the recent increase in concussions among younger children. The two were on opposite sides of this debate. Plus they delved into other dangerous sports: Motorcycling (which recently claimed the life of a 13 year old) and Soccer (which has a high rate of unreported concussions). How important are sports to kids? What does playing a sport do for them?

Kids, Sports, Dads and Bowling

Kent and Todd didn’t focus on the bowling, that was bad and got worse as the night progressed at Players. The show on pagatim.fm allowed Dads to talk about their kids and sports, plus what type of role did sports play in their lives when they were young and as they are in the workforce now. Lots of myths were debunked and stories told.

Did you miss Dads Unplugged FREE Bowling?

I guess you missed it and did you miss out. Keep your eye out for the LONG version of the time we spent down at Players because I had to edit out a good 15 minutes of great conversation to fit in our 30 minute window. Things that will be in that longer version, Darci (we still don’t believe she actually has given birth to 5 kids), Kent railing on the University of Washington and how they treated his dad, plus  more comments about how one Dad should handle a very troubling athletic situation with his son. We never know what is going to happen at these Dads Unplugged get togethers, but we do know that we will have a great time. Hope you can join us for the next one. Keep your eyes open on the web site, or if you want to be added to our mailing list, send us a note at Comments@pagatim.fm
